Veracruz, Mexico

Ben Kochenower, Evangelist

Members of the Veracruz central church hosted evangelistic meetings sponsored by Global Evangelism and The Quiet Hour radiobroadcast from Jan. 10 to 26, 2003.

Ben Kochenower, right, and his translator, Rafael Garcia, share the gospel of Jesus Christ during the 16-day evangelistic series

More than 400 people attended each evening, coming from throughout Veracruz and surrounding communities. More than 60 people committed their lives to Jesus Christ during the course of the series

A contingent of faithful church members provided nightly assistance as staff for the meetings. After each meeting plans for the next meeting were developed during staff meetings

Kochenower and Garcia assist Jamie Trott, right, (Kochenower's nephew) as he prepares to serve as a minuteman evangelist in Cordoba, a church at at which another lay-evangelist had been schedule to speak. But  enroute to Mexico the other layman became sick and returned to his home. Elder Folkenberg asked a somewhat nervous Jamie Trott, who hadn't brought any dress clothes, to step into the vacancy and preach the campaign at the last minute!  At right Kochenower and Dr. Warren Lovett, left, another lay evangelist headquartered in Veracruz, help to outfit Trott with a new suit. Trott had initially  intended to assist his uncle in the Veracruz series.
