Xalapa, the capital of the state of Vercruz, is a university city about 100 kilometers northwest of Veracruz,  Mexico. The Global Evangelism meetings were presented by Dr. Warren Lovett of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Held from January 10 to 25, it was his second evangelistic series for Global Evangelism.

On the opening weekend, Dr. Lovett's interpreter, Harold Gonzales, above, left, was a doctoral candidate in languages who is fluent in four languages. More than 400 people crowded into the upper room auditorium on the beginning weekend. Interest in the message continued throughout the series. More than 30 visitors joined the Adventist members on the opening weekend.

A variety of groups and soloists provided superb music throughout the series of meetings.

A team of faithful assistants provided help for the evangelist throughout the series of meetings. By the end of the series 12 people had accepted Jesus into their lives and were baptized and 10 more were studying in a baptismal class.
