Travel Instructions |
The easiest way to travel to Aba, Nigeria internationally is to fly to Port Harcourt, Nigeria through London or Paris on either Virgin Atlantic Airlines or Air France. The flights are only two days per week. Based on the flight arrival information provided below, your flights will be met and you will be driven from Port Harcourt to Aba, which is about a one-hour drive. The second option is to fly to Lagos, the capital. There are daily flights to Lagos from both London and Paris as well as other countries. In these instances you will need to communicate by e-mail with the union coordinator and give him the information of the number of people in your party and how many hotel rooms you will need, ask him to a) make hotel reservations for you at the airport hotel (convenient, moderate price, not very clean) or at the Sheraton (further from the airport, very nice, higher price--about $150 or more per night), b) meet your flight and take you to the hotel of your choice, and take you back to the airport the net day for the flight to Port Harcourt. You will also need to arrange a flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt. Several local airlines (Chanchangi Airlines, Belleview Airlines, Nigeria Airways, and Soosooliso Air) fly this route but you can only buy tickets in advance of your arrival on one (maybe two) of them. Most will expect you to make your reservations on your arrival and pay for your tickets in cash upon arriving at the airport. |
