| General Hotel Information: East African Union leaders have provided at least one good hotel option for each of the cities in which guest evangelists will be working. The prices quoted below are in US$ and include all pertinent taxes. Unless indicated to the contrary, the hotel will accept payment with a MasterCard, or Visa Card. Each guest evangelist is responsible for his/her own hotel bills (including such other expenses as may have been charged to each room). Now we will review the hotels in each city. Since I visited Nairobi in March of 2001 I was able to take pictures of the hotel options in that city. Unfortunately I was unable to do this for the other cities. | |
| Option 1: There are three
hotel options available for those whose Campaigns are in the Nairobi area. The first is the
Conference Center operated by the East African Union. The Center has forty rooms,
each with a private bathroom, hot and cold running water, and a phone in the room. The
reception desk is manned 24 hours per day to transfer incoming calls and to handle
outgoing calls. Five rooms have double beds instead of two single beds. The
rooms are not air-conditioned since the climate in Nairobi is so cool and comfortable. As
you can see from the picture below with the twin beds, though the windows are screened in,
a mosquito net is also provided since Malaria is present in the country. The cost of the
room, including three meals, is Kshs. 1,850 (about US$24) per day, single occupancy and
Kshs.3,200 (about US$41) double occupancy. Those who stay in other Nairobi Hotels
may want to take their meals here. The food is VERY good and the price is quite
reasonable. The cost of three meals is Kshs. 850 per day (about US$11). Breakfast is
Kshs 250, and the other two meals are Kshs. 300 each. This location will be the most
convenient for it is in this facility that the any meetings involving the guest

| Option 2: The second option, Hotel
Panafric (right), is located about 200 meters from the Conference Center. It is a
very nice facility and consequently the cost for the hotel is somewhat higher. Since
the distance from the Panafric to the Conference Center is so close, I am assuming that
those who choose to stay in this facility will take their meals at the Conference Center.
The current rate (for one person) is US$74 per night but the Union treasurer trying to
secure a reduced rate. If he is successful that new rate will be placed here.

Option 3: Since the Nairobi Hilton
(left) is located in downtown Nairobi, about 5 Km (3 miles) from the Conference Center,
and since Hilton's rates are usually very high, this option would normally not have been
included. But since the prices we have received are so deeply discounted (to about
US$50 per day, single occupancy) I have included it here. The cost to take a taxi to
