Orientation Hotel Information

Orientation date and place: Orientation for the Southeast Asia campaigns will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malasia, on Wednesday, September 17. Guest evangelists and support team members will continue their flights to their destination cities either on Wednesday night (as long as the flights leave after 7:00 p.m.) or Thursday morning, September 18.

Travel instructions: Participants should purchase airline tickets to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the orientation and should plan to arrive no later than Tuesday, September 16. The campaign coordinator will arrange for someone to meet each of those coming to participate in the meetings. However, if there should be a problem with delayed or cancelled flights and your flight is not met, the union provided the following options for travel from the International Airport to the Pearl International Hotel.

From KLIA, Taxi to Pearl International Hotel will cost about RM70 (Malaysian Rupees) per cab it takes about 50 minutes. Train will cost RM35 per person to KL Central which will only take 28 minutes. The trains leave at 15 minutes interval. On arriving at KL Central you can take a taxi from there to Pear International and it will take about 10 minutes to get to the hotel and will cost about RM8-10 per cab. A bus from the airport to Chan Sow Lin LRT Station will cost RM10 per person and will take about 50 minutes. From there a cab will take you to the hotel in a few minutes and will cost about RM5-7 (by meter) to Pearl International Hotel.

Visas: When completing your visa application never use the term "crusade," since this is anathema to Muslims. Neither should you use the phrase "evangelistic campaign" but describe the purpose of your visit with terms such as "spiritual revival" or "revival meetings." The ministerial secretary just advised (Mar. '03) that it is better to state in immigration documents that the purpose of the visit should be listed as "business." That's all.
