In the major cities of most parts of the world your credit cards will be accepted and ATMs may be available at banks.  However, in the developing countries as you leave the larger cities access to these financial services are no longer available.  We will try to provide information on the websites of the specific campaign regarding whether hotels accept credit cards.  However, frequently that information is hard to get.  So, if you are in doubt, in order to avoid embarrassment we suggest the traveler bring funding to pay the hotel and other expenses without dependence on credit cards or ATMs.  Furthermore, experience has taught that the exchange rates used in credit cards are frequently less advantageous to the traveler than those available through exchanging funds and paying bills in local currency.
